1). Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Hot Air Styler

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler Top Hot Air Brush For 2020
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler
Description:
The Revlon One-Step hair dryer is an oval shape (volumizer) which has a flat side on the top and bottom then curves around the brush. It also has both types of bristles, nylon and boar. Having bristles on both sides allows your hair to wrap around the brush if you so desire. Download the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler User Guide.

Revlon One Step Hair Dryer Oval Style Hot Brush Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
Has boar bristles Uneven air flow
Better tension and control 2 heat settings
Better style and finish Costs a little more
Can add volume to hair

Usage Tip:
To make it easier before you dry your hair you can apply some leave in conditioner or use a heat protectant product. Then do a quick comb through with a wide tooth comb to remove any tangles. This will make it a lot easier to use the hot brush.
Temperature Settings:
The heat controls are either Low or High. The Revlon (as well as most the other hot air brushes in this review) does not really give you much options as far a temperature settings go. The Low might be too low and the High is most likely going to be too hot. For this reason I am not a big fan of hot brushes with only 2 heat settings.
Air Flow:
Air flow through these all-in-one hot brushes are usually not the greatest and the Revlon brush is no exception. Air flow is not even. The air only flows in a certain spot on one side and more toward the top of the brush. This will give you an inconsistent look and finish.
Tension and Control:
The more tension a brush provides the more control you have over your hair. This allows you to apply tension to your hair when styling. More tension generally means better results as you are able to bend your hair and set it to your style.
Volume:
The Revlon Oval One Step hot brush will give you more volume because you can get closer to your scalp due to the oval design. So if you are looking for a hot brush that can dry your hair close to your scalp and give more volume at your hair line then you are going to want the Revlon One-Step oval design. Revlon did a good job on this design.
Conclusion:
Out of all the popular models reviewed The Revlon One Step Oval hot brush is our top pick. It does have it's share of faults but in the end provides good value for the price. It is functional and will do the job. I would have liked to see better air flow and more temperature settings. Upgrading these features would have taken this brush from average to fantastic!

2). Conair 3-in-1 Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush Combo Kit

Conair 3-in-1 Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush Combo Kit Top Hot Air Brush
Conair 3-in-1 Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush Combo Kit
Description:
Provides increased even heat distribution. Eliminates damaging hot spots. Leaves hair silky smooth. Emits negative ions to eliminate frizz. Does not spin. Comes with 3 attachments for styling control: 1.) 1 1/4-inch tourmaline ceramic-coated thermal brush for smooth, silky shine 2.) 3/4-inch natural boar and nylon bristle brush 3.) concentrator for pin point styling. Also has tourmaline ceramic technology which is used to help eliminate static, reduces frizz and protects hair from heat damage. I like the 1000 watts of power for faster drying and styling. Download the Conair 3-in-1 Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush Combo Kit User Guide.

Conair 3-in-1 Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush Combo Kit Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
Swivel power cord 2 heat settings
1000 watts of power Brush attachments hard to attach
Comes with three attachments Handle is large in diameter which makes it harder to hold on to

Usage Tip:
To avoid tangling, never roll the hair around the hot air brush more than two times. I found that using a small section of hair at a time is the best way.
Temperature Settings:
The heat controls are either Low or High. This does not give you much options as far a temperature settings go. The Low might be too low and the High is most likely going to be too hot. For this reason I am not a big fan of hot brushes with only 2 heat settings. Plus what is the temperature on low? What is the temperature on high? Looking at the manual it does not say, or at least I could not find it. The ¾ inch brush is natural boar bristles with no tourmaline ceramic. The 1 and ¾ inch brush has tourmaline ceramic and gets hot faster than the ¾ inch due to the tourmaline ceramic. Both brushes has a protective end tip that is cool and prevents burns. For thin to medium hair types I would suggest holding hair on the brush for approximately 5 seconds and slowly work up to a longer time and see how it works. After 5 seconds or so then release your hair from around the brush without tension and then continue to the the next section of hair.
Air Flow:
Air flow through these all-in-one hot brushes are usually not the greatest but Conair does a good job on this model.
Tension and Control:
This brush has good tension for folks who have thin to medium hair. Conair gives you 3 attachments 2 of which are brushes so this is a great feature for the price. However the bristles are not as stiff as I would have liked. For folks who have really thick hair a stiffer bristle is needed for good penetration. If Conair would have given a softer bristle for thin to medium hair folks and a stiffer set of bristles for thick hair folks the brush would be so much better.
Volume:
The Conair 3-in-1 tourmaline ceramic hot air brush will give you more volume but it’s harder to get close to your scalp on top due to the handle is large and it’s not that easy to maneuver over your head with one hand.
Conclusion:
The Conair 3-in-1 tourmaline ceramic hot air brush has 1000 watts of styling power which I like as compared to other with only 500 watts. The 1 and ¼ inch bristle brush barrel has a satin finish, easy-glide tourmaline ceramic-coated surface, the newest in hair care technology. This means it’s not only simpler to clean off styling product residue, etc., after each use, but you’ll find that hair glides easily over the surface of the nonstick barrel as you're styling. The tourmaline ceramic-coated surface also helps smooth down flyaways and frizzies. Natural ions are emitted to reduce frizz for beautiful, shiny smooth results. As you wind each strand around the barrel, heat is evenly distributed so that the style you create has a salon-perfect, silky smooth, shiny finish. Hair easily slips right off the barrel after it’s styled. The new tourmaline ceramic technology is a pleasure to work with. It makes styling your hair easier and the results more professional.

3). BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush

BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush
BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush
Description:
This rotating hot air brush will be your new go-to styling and finishing tool. Precisely calibrated warm airflow works with our anti-static bristle mix to deliver salon-level volume and shine. The BaByliss Pro heated brush has an ergonomic handle & controls. What I like is the rotating barrel moves forward & backward for easy styling. Download the BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush User Guide.

BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
Rotating barrel is bi-directional, moving crisply either forward or backward Price
Ionic technology and anti-static bristles reduce frizz Hair can get caught between the barrel and the end cap
3 temperature settings

Usage Tip:
Always work in sections. Take a small section of your hair, no more than what will fit onto the hot air brush and style it first before moving on the the next section. It’s easier and your hair will not get tangles in the brush.
Temperature Settings:
BaBylissPro Nano Titanium rotating hot air brush has 3 heat setting but 2 are for heat and 1 is for cool. So yea, technically you have 3 temperature settings but only 2 heat temperature settings. So I am still going to say I am not a big fan of hot brushes with only 2 heat settings. Now that being said the cool temperature button is a great feature to have because it will allow you to set your curl. This way your curl will last all day and will not be prone to fall out later.
Air Flow:
Air flow through these all-in-one hot brushes are usually not the greatest but BaBylissPro does a good job on this model. It worth noting this is not a hair dryer so when styling your hair your roots will not be dried. BaByliss advises you start with hair that is 80% to 90% dry.
Tension and Control:
This brush has good tension for folks who have thin to medium hair. BaBylissPro is able to handle any length of hair and works well on thin to normal hair. Volume:
The BaBylissPro Nano Titanium rotating hot air brush will give you more volume but it’s harder to get close to your scalp on top due to the handle is large and it’s not that easy to maneuver over your head with one hand. For folks with thin to normal hair will see fantastic volume.
Conclusion:
The way you use the BaBylissPro Nano Titanium rotating hot air brush is you brush your hair and when you have reached the ends you active the spin function and as the brush head spins you move the brush closer to your scalp. Most folks in many reviews I see are not using the brush correctly. They are activating the spin function as they are pulling the brush away from their scalp. Watch the video to see the proper way to use this hot air brush.

BaBylissPro Nano Titanium Rotating Hot Air Brush

Another way to use the brush as a dryer is to hold the brush close to your scalp and as you are slowly brushing your hair moving the brush away from your scalp your have the heat setting turned on. This action dries your hair. Do not use the spin function when using this method to dry your hair. A great feature about this brush I really like is the anti-static bristles. When using this brush correctly you can in fact get a lot of volume and shine.

4). Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry Hot Air Brush Styler

Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry Hot Air Brush Styler Top Hot Air Brush
Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry Hot Air Brush Styler
Description:
The Infiniti Pro by Conair Wet or Dry Hot Air Styler straightens, shines, and controls frizz. The Infiniti Pro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air styler not only straightens, shines, but also controls frizz. The tension control system is suited for all hair types. It features tourmaline ceramic technology which is responsible for creating ions to help smooth the cuticle layer drying from the inside out, providing faster, more gentle, and a better drying process. I was skeptical at first when hearing about negative ion technology, but it really works. Also the infrared energy protects hair’s natural luster creating silky, shiny hair. This seals the hair cuticle, reducing frizziness, leaving the hair shiny and more manageable. It also includes a 2-speed slide switch, and a cool shot button to lock in styles. Download the Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry Hot Air Brush Styler User Manual.

Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry Hot Air Brush Styler Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
Tourmaline ceramic technology May not be suitable for thick hair
Infrared energy protects hair 2 heat settings

Usage Tip:
Before starting always ally a heat protectant to your hair. This will aid in detangling and will also of course protect your hair while styling. If you are using a new hot air brush for the first time always start out at the lowest heat setting and work up to a higher setting. Also start out at holding the brush in one spot for say 5 seconds and then gradually work up to longer periods of time as get see how your hair is being styled.
Temperature Settings:
Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air brush styler has 3 heat setting but 2 are for heat and 1 is for cool. So yea just like the others, technically you have 3 temperature settings but only 2 heat temperature settings. So I am still going to say I am not a big fan of hot brushes with only 2 heat settings. The brush does not burn you and you can get really close to your scalp. Some other hot air brushes get really hot and can burn you if you touch it but this one does not get extremely hot where it feels uncomfortable.
Air Flow:
Air flow through these all-in-one hot brushes are usually not the greatest but Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air brush styler does a good job on this model. It worth noting this is not a hair dryer but this model can dry your hair if you work in sections as you slowly brush through your hair.
Tension and Control:
This brush in my opinion is not really the best styling tool due to there is little to no tension. However many folks will disagree with me and for good reason. If you want a more or less straight and less frizzy hair style this this will do the job. So depending on your hair style this might just be all you are looking for.
Volume:
The Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air brush styler will give you more volume and due to it’s design you can get close to your scalp. For folks with thin to normal hair will see a sleek and shinny look in minutes.
Conclusion:
The Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air brush styler is very lightweight and easily controlled in one hand. It feels much lighter than the others and easier to handle than the others. Due to the lack of tension and the bristle, or lack of, it may not be able to create some styles as effectively as using a round boar brush and a hair dryer, however it may be all most folks want since it does a very good job at drying hair and give you heat sleek shinny look. If you have thick natural hair it’s going to take some time to style your hair using the Infinitypro by Conair Wet and Dry hot air brush styler as compared to using a regular high quality bow dryer. I do not recommend it for thick natural curly hair.

5). Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush

Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush Top Brush for 2020
Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush
Description:
Brush rotates in both directions. 2-in and 1 1/2-in brush is included. Tourmaline ceramic technology for healthy-looking hair. Ion generator reduces frizz and enhances shine. 2 heat plus cool settings. Tangle-free anti-static boar and nylon bristles. This is an all-in-one tool to dry and style and get the perfect salon blowout at home. It can create curls and add body and volume on damp or dry hair. It comes with two brush sizes to choose from, a 2-inch (to create voluminous curls) and full body (or 1 1/2-inch) to create smaller natural curls and waves. The Conair hot air spin brush has a true ion generator that releases up to 100 times more concentrated ions to protect hair from damage while its tourmaline ceramic technology creates shine as you dry. So you end up getting silky smooth results every time. This hot air brush can be used on damp hair to style and dry at the same time, and is also great for refreshing hair or changing looks between shampoos by being used as a touch-up tool. The multi-directional brushes of this Conair curling brush can rotate in both directions. And what I like is that it can also be used without the spin feature to give you another level of control. The Conair hot air spin brush has tangle-free anti-static boar and nylon bristles work in conjunction with 2 heat settings and cool setting for all hair types and lengths. The handle is new and improved much slimmer for easy handling and superior spin function for polishing and setting styles. Also included are 2 protective covers to keep your spin brush attachments looking like new. Download the Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush User Guide.

Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
2-inch spin air brush creates voluminous curls 2 heat settings
Brush rotates in both directions May not be suitable for thick hair
Removable filter allows easy lint cleanup and extends motor life

Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush Video

Usage Tip:
The Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush has a rotating head. For some folks the rotating head can be difficult to use. And if not used with some degree of skill you might get your hair tangled in the rotating head. So at first, take it slow and make sure you know what button rotates the head forward and backward.
Temperature Settings:
Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush has 2 heat settings. So I am still going to say as you have read multiple times by now I am not a big fan of hot brushes with only 2 heat settings. Usually it's going to be too hot or not hot enough and will take you longer to style your hair.
Air Flow:
Air flow on this model seems just OK. It’s really not going to be able to keep up with a high quality hair dryer and a round brush. It does help to work in sections and not try to tackle all your hair on one side at one time.
Tension and Control:
This brush in my opinion does have OK tension so it can do it’s job and either straighten or add curls. But when compared to the Revlon One-Step of example it falls short in my opinion.
Volume:
The Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush will give you more volume but due to the "just OK" air flow I feel this could be greatly improved upon.
Conclusion:
The Infinitypro by Conair Hot Air Spin Brush is OK and can do the job. I would recommend this hot air brush for folks who have thin to normal hair. If you have thick natural curly hair I do not believe this model has enough air flow to get your hair styled in the amount of time you are going to be willing to spend on your hair. There are faster and easier options available.

6). John Frieda Hot Air Brush

John Frieda Hot Air Brush Top Hot Brush 2020
John Frieda Hot Air Brush
Description:
500 watts, 2 heat settings plus cool setting and enhanced airflow to help you achieve perfect style. This is a premium hot air brush features advanced ionic power, 500 watts, 2 heat settings plus cool setting and enhanced airflow to help you achieve perfect style. The 1 and 1/2-inch barrel is perfect for adding gorgeous volume and shine to styles. And the large titanium ceramic barrel gives fullness and body as you style, while the soft bristles create ultimate shine and smoothness. Download the John Frieda Hot Air Brush User Guide.

John Frieda Hot Brush Pros and Cons
Pros Cons
Two levels of bristles Not for thick hair
Price @ $39.99 2 heat settings
Better style and finish Takes a little longer
Can add volume to hair
Lightweight

Usage Tip:
Before using the John Frieda or any hot air brush it's a great idea to detangle your hair first. One simple way that works for most folks is to detangle using a wide tooth comb. This will make using your hot air brush much easier and get your the style you are looking for.
Temperature Settings:
I have heard some really good reviews about the John Frieda hair brush so let's take a deeper dive.
The John Frieda hot brush has a mixture of nylon ball tips bristles and regular bristles that are a little shorter and do not have ball tips. Heat settings are Low, High and Cold. I must mention I am not a big fan of only having 2 heat settings. Like I said before Low is going to be not hot enough and High will most likely be too hot.
Air Flow:
Air flow through these all-in-one hot brushes are usually not the greatest.  The John Frieda hair brush has 500 watts of power and does an adequate job. But with only 500 watts it's not going to be the first tool you reach for when you need to dry your hair.
Tension and Control:
The one really big Pro for the John Frieda hot brush is that it’s really lightweight. And of course the price is a big plus at less than forty bucks. The hot brush has a good amount of control. Due to the two lengths of bristles you can apply a good amount of tension while styling and drying your hair. This will equate to having a much better looking style when finished. Hair will be not a frizzy and curls will have more definition and bounce. Not as good as with a round boar brush and a high quality hair dryer but for the price, it’s not bad at all. Also with a a high quality blow dryer you will be done much faster due to the amount of air a good hair dryer can pump out as compared to a hot brush. If you have really thick hair this hot brush is not for you due to it’s just going to take too long to dry and style as compared to using a blow dryer.
Conclusion:
If you have long hair and your hair is thin to medium you can use this product to dry your hair but it going to take longer. So for that reason I can’t recommend you use the hot brush that way. You may want to consider drying your hair first then when about 80% dry use the John Frieda hot brush to add the last bit of style to your hair. If you are planning to purchase make sure you get the right size. The John Frieda hot brush comes in a one inch version for shorter hair and tighter curls and waves and a one and one half inch for longer hair and looser curls and waves. When done you hair will feel soft, smooth and less frizzy.

Bristles on the John Frieda hot air brush are made of nylon, silicone and ceramic materials that glide through the hair gently and smoothly to straighten your hair. Hot air brushes give you a smooth shinny straight look and feel to your hair. They are excellent at diminishing frizz and fly-a-ways by sealing the hair cuticles. Gives you that smooth salon style look. Works good on all hair types including natural curly hair. If you want to style while drying damp hair, hot air brushes are a great option. And if you have thin damaged hair and want the safest way to style your hair a hot brush is going to be the best option for you. Overall a good solid hot brush.
