Silicone shampoo brush

Scalp care massage brush or a soft silicone brush with flexible bristles massages the scalp to promote circulation of the blood, exfoliates and helps clean your scalp. Some brushes claim to help with hair growth and to some extent can actually alleviate hair loss. There are many benefits for using a shampoo brush and a good silicone brush one will massage your scalp without scaring or scratching. It's specifically designed to massage your scalp and help to stimulate nutrient-rich blood flow to the hair follicles and help to reduce dandruff. By shampooing you hair and scalp regularly will help with oily conditions.

Silicone shampoo brushes work well because they have bristles that are firm enough to massage your scalp but soft enough not to cause damage. Shampoo brushes have specially formulated firm but flexible bristles that exfoliates and cleans your scalp with every brush stoke. The bristles help shampoo penetrate deeper to the scalp so you get an effective deep cleaning. Deeper penetration and cleaning helps maintain healthy hair and scalp by lifting dandruff flakes away and stimulating your skin cells. The gentle massage stimulates your scalp by helping blood flow in bringing nutrients to you hair follicles.

4 Silicone Shampoo Brush Designs

Basically there are 4 designs for shampoo brushes, two of which are silicone based and the other one is more like an actual brush and is called a scalp brush. The major differences between the 2 silicone brushes is in the way you hold the brush.

Design 2 fits between your fingers and thus your fingers supply the tension holding it in place as you scrub. Both designs work well it will just come down to which you prefer.

This one is by Maxsoft, but there are many other brands out there similar to Maxsoft. Maxsoft just so happens to be the brand that is the most popular at the time of this writing. But there is another very popular brand called HEETA. The brush is very similar to Maxsoft in which I like also. HEETA headquarters is located in Shenzhen, Guangdon China.

Heeta Silicone shampoo brush
HEETA has a soft silicone bristle brush which is manual in operation sot here is no battery required. It works for various hairstyles from very thin to very thick hair both short and long. But I found it much better for shorter hair. The HEETA shampoo brush work on wet or dry hair and also works on pets too. This brush makes washing your hair an enjoyable experience plus cleans your scalp much better than just using your fingers.

I found the brush to fit very nicely in the palm of your hand. In addition the silicone brush is very light weight coming in at only 1.8 Oz. If you have manicured nails then this brush is a must.

How to use a s-heart-s shampoo brush

Design 3 is an actual brush with a handle. It touts in incredible 376 nylon bristles with round tips by S-Heart. The biggest drawback is it's incredibly expensive. But i will say it's a high quality product that I believe will last many years if properly taken care of. The big advantage of this brush over the other mentioned here is that it has a nice handle, quality made, doubles as a detangler and is very effective at cleaning and massaging your scalp.

Do silicone shampoo brushes work?

https://www.hairbrushy.com/2020/07/do-silicone-shampoo-brushes-work-s.html

According to S-Heart properly shampooed hair is essential for volume and shine. So did you know that normal shampooing leaves behind residue and buildup on your scalp? This residue and buildup could be a major problem over time.

There are approximately 40,000 pores on the average human scalp according to Noriko Motoyama a hair consultant for S-Heart. Each one of these pores are very tiny approximately 0.2 to 0.3 millimeters in diameter. From each of the pores there are up to three hairs that grow. The human head has approximately 100,000 to 120,000 individual hairs. So as you can imagine it’s almost impossible to clean using only ten fingers. If the pores from which the hair grows is clogged or dirty it can lead to hair loss, dandruff, itchiness and loss of natural volume.

In addition because the scalp and face are connected by taking acre of your scalp can also improve the appearance of your face as well. By stretching the scalp and massaging it can also result in the growth of new and beautiful hair. And to help with the massaging may celebrity hairstylist are using scalp brushes. Top hair stylist and Color Specialist Tatiana Badalove in Beverly Hills, CA says her clients love how a scalp or shampoo brush feels on their scalp. It feel great and most have never come across anything like it before.

When you look closely at your scalp you might be surprised to fins a lot of oil and buildup on your scalp and in your pores. The oil and build-up can occur for some folks in as little as one day. So having many tiny bristles can cover more of your scalp without missing any areas. There are 376 bristles on the S-Heat scalp brush. These bristles are designed to remove build up while gently massaging your scalp. This action and the 376 bristles gives you a deeper and more invigorating cleaning of your pores. The cleaning you get with the 376 bristles are much better than what you can get with your finger alone. The 376 bristles on the S-Heat shampoo brush gets rid of the oil and build-up and give the hair more volume, fullness and shine. You end up with a healthy looking head of hair.

Another bonus of the S-Heat shampoo brush is it’s ability to detangle hair without pulling on hair or scratching the scalp. The S-Heart shampoo brush is patented in Japan for it’s design. The scalp brush feel so good you will want to brush and wash your hair everyday.

Alternative shampoo brushes similar to S-Heart

If you find the S-Heat brush just too expensive but love the design and high quality I did some research and came up with at least two other comparable products that you might be interested in. They are listed below in more detail: The Ikemoto brush which is a Japan import and the Phillips Sapphire Touch hair brush which is part of the gem collection. I like both of these brushes as well. The brush has bristles made of firm to semi firm plastic bristles.
The bristles are heat resistant and you can use with a hair dryer. However you should be aware the temperature rating is 80 degrees Celsius or 176 degrees Fahrenheit. This mean you should not get the brush too hot otherwise the bristles will melt. If you are drying your hair the proper way this should not be an issue. Your hair dryer should be blowing hot air on your hair and not the brush. I see so many brushes ruined due to blow dryers. As you style your hair point the hair dryer at your hair immediately behind the brush and as you move the brush through your hair closely follow with your hair dryer. This technique focuses hot air on your hair and not the brush. Your hair brushes will last longer and save the bristles from melting.
To clean the brush simply pull out hair and use warm soapy water to clean. To prevent a lot of build up of hair care product on your brush commit to a regular cleaning schedule. As you use the brush hair care product builds up fast and when there is a lot of it on each bristle it makes it really hard to clean. By cleaning weekly makes it much easier and quicker. Plus you always want a clean brush. Dirty brushes grab your hair and can cause to much tension when brushing.
I love these brushes because of the bristles. They are firm but flexible so as you brush you get a nice head massage. The brushes are very well made and will last 20 or 30 years with proper care. At first glance you might freak out at the price but if you take care of the brush you probably will not need another one unless you loose it. so the price over 30 years is not that much, right? You will end up spending more on hair spray.

What is silicone?

Most if not all of these type products are made from Silica gel.Silicon dioxide (SiO2), also known as silica, is a natural compound consisting of two of the most abundant materials on Earth: silicon (Si) and oxygen (O2). The crust of the earth is 59% silica. It makes up over 95 percent of the planet's known rocks. It's silicon dioxide in the form of sand that gets between your toes when you're sitting on a beach. It is even naturally found in the human body's tissues. While it is unclear what role it plays, it is believed that our bodies need an essential nutrient. And just in case you are asking Silicon dioxide has been recognized as a safe food additive by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). But the European Food Safety Authority urged the European Union in 2018 to impose more stringent silicon dioxide guidelines until further research can be done. Their concerns centered on particles of nano size particles. However they are concerned with consumption of the product. This article focus on external use as a brush. But feel free to read more by visiting the articles listed above. The primary benefit of using silicone is that it's soft and flexible. It's has just the right amount of stiffness to exfoliate your scalp but not damage your skin.

Interesting facts about silicone

Silica gel existed as a scientific curiosity as early as the 1640s. It was used in World War I to adsorb vapors and gases in gas mask canisters. The synthetic route for the production of silica gel was patented in 1918 by professor of chemistry Walter A. Patrick at Johns Hopkins University.
